Undergraduate and Graduate Student Internships

SNPRC provides educational and training opportunities for a limited number of students during an 8-10 week summer session. Both undergraduate and graduate (Ph.D. and veterinary) students at accredited academic institutions are welcome to apply.

Applications for the Summer 2010 internship program must be received by March 31, 2010.


Veterinary Technology Student Internships

SNPRC provides educational and training opportunities for two students currently enrolled in the Palo Alto Veterinary Technology Program during a 8-week summer session.

Applications for the Summer 2010 internship program must be received by March 1, 2010.


Foreign Veterinarian Training Program

The Southwest National Primate Research Center (SNPRC) provides laboratory animal medicine training opportunities for up to two foreign veterinarians each year. This program is twelve weeks (3 months) in duration and includes training in the areas of clinical nonhuman primate medicine and surgery, pathology, behavioral management, laboratory animal administration and animal research. Veterinarians from foreign research institutions are all welcome to apply. Preference will be given to veterinarians from research facilities that are currently engaged in collaborative research with the Southwest National Primate Research Center.

All application materials must be received no later than six months before the anticipated date for the training.


Veterinary Student Externship

The Southwest National Primate Research Center (SNPRC) provides educational AND training opportunities for a limited number of veterinary student externs throughout the year. The student must be currently enrolled in veterinary school. The SNPRC will match student externs with appropriate veterinarian mentors. The availability of a specific mentor is not guaranteed.

Applications are accepted throughout the year.


Student Volunteer Program

The Southwest National Primate Research Center (SNPRC) provides educational volunteer opportunities for a limited number of students throughout the year. The student must be at least 18 years of age and currently enrolled in school. The SNPRC will match student volunteers with appropriate mentors. The availability of a mentor is not guaranteed.
