SFBR is where research begins. Since its founding in 1941
by, SFBR has continued to make major medical achievements
that contribute information that helps advance the scientific
community's effort to improve health and save lives.
These achievements have come from studying heart disease,
cancer, infectious diseases, new and emerging disease threats
such as dengue, SARS and possible bioterror agents like anthrax
and Ebola, the role of genetics in human diseases, respiratory
diseases of the newborn, fetal growth and development, hormonal
research, and behavioral medicine.
SFBR has made leaps and bounds in the quest to solve problems
associated with infectious and often fatal diseases like
Hepatitis, AIDS, and Herpes.

discovered new treatments for breast and prostate cancer
as well as the potential for new discoveries in the treatment
of melanoma.
