It's a fact of life that grants and other income do not provide
all the resources SFBR needs to achieve its important mission.
Since its founding, giving has played the role of a powerful
enabler of progress at SFBR. Donations supplement grant monies
and show grant-making organizations, such as the National Institutes
of Health, of donor's interest and confidence in the Foundation's
work. In addition, donations may be used to fund salaries, supplies
and other key research needs, such as equipment and laboratory
supplies and to fill gaps that research funding does not cover.
In some instances, donations provide “seed money”
of new and innovative ideas, which are vital to the future of
SFBR's research mission.
